Start by using strong, unique passwords and a reputable password manager rather than reusing the same password everywhere or keeping a list of passwords in your phone’s notes.
Enable two-factor authentication where available and ensure your recovery email address and phone number are current.
Most importantly, know how you would regain access if your primary phone suddenly became unavailable.
Back Up WhatsApp and Other Important Business Data
If WhatsApp is an important sales channel for your business, regularly back up your chats and media using the backup options available on your device.
Also review what actually needs to be retained.
An order confirmation or customer conversation may be useful, but important contracts, invoices and transaction records should have a proper home outside a chat application.
The same applies to photographs, videos and marketing materials. If losing your phone means losing every product photograph you have taken for the past three years, you have another unnecessary risk.

Make Sure Someone Else Can Find What the Business Needs

Imagine you are unavailable for one week.
Could someone you trust locate an important supplier’s contact, find a customer’s invoice or access the documents required to complete an existing order?
If the answer is no because everything is on your personal phone, then your business is too dependent on you.
This does not mean giving every employee access to everything. Sensitive information should be properly protected.
However, essential business information should be stored systematically, with appropriate access given to the people who genuinely need it.
A business becomes stronger when important information belongs to the business rather than living entirely with one individual.
